Гигантопитеки (Gigantopithecus von Koenigswald, 1935) — род подсемейства понгин (Ponginae Elliot, 1913), происходящий из позднего миоцена и раннего - среднего плейстоцена Азии. Установлены 2 вида.

    Реконструкция внешнего облика гигантопитека (Gigantopithecus blacki). Автор — Р. Евсеев.

Синонимы: Dryopithecus Lartet, 1856 (частью); Sivapithecus Pilgrim, 1910 (частью); Gigantanthropus Weidenreich, 1946; Giganthropus Weinert, 1950; Indopithecus von Koenigsvald, 1950.
