Дейнотерии (Deinotherium Kaup, 1829) — род подсемейства дейнотериин (Deinotheriinae Bonaparte, 1845), происходящий из среднего миоцена - раннего плейстоцена Африки, среднего миоцена - позднего плиоцена Европы и среднего миоцена - раннего плейстоцена Азии. Установлено порядка 5 видов.

    Реконструкция внешнего облика дейнотериев: 1 — Deinotherium proavum; 2 — Deinotherium giganteum; 3 — Deinotherium levius. Автор — Р. Евсеев.

Синонимы: Tapirus Brisson, 1762 (частью); Dinotherium Pictet, 1853; ? Prodeinotherium (Ehik, 1930) Harris, 1973 (частью).
